About Political Science Department

Profile:

There is politics everywhere. It is the "master science," according to Aristotle, since it affects all facets of human existence, including what we can say, do, and eat. Politics cannot be avoided, but by studying political science, we can learn how to use it more effectively. Political science is concerned with the theory and application of politics and government at the local, state, federal, and worldwide levels. Our goal is to create knowledge on the organizations, interactions, and behaviour’s that make up public life as well as research approaches that support civic engagement. Indian politics, comparative politics, international relations, political philosophy, and law are all included in the large field of political science. It examines the ways in which people use power in social contexts as well as the structures, guidelines, and procedures established to encourage collaboration. Political science intersects with many other fields due to its broad nature, such as economics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, communications, and criminal justice. A Political Science major usually studies democracy and other forms of government, leadership styles, the theories of Plato, Machiavelli, Hobbes, and Locke; public opinion formation; the role of new social media in politics; the influence of non-governmental organizations on global politics; and constitutional law.
