Department of Economics
The Department of Economics was founded concurrently with the college's inception and offered an elective course in economics for Bachelor of Arts students. The department provides courses that help students strengthen their critical thinking and cognitive abilities, instil employability skills, and link the growth of their entrepreneurial talents with their beliefs.
The students are benefitted with the scope of economics which covers all the central issues faced by society, including economic decline, the growth, poverty, unemployment, budgeting etc. Additionally, students are regularly educated practically to face the job markets and various interviews. The presentations and seminars along with class tests are also conducted on regular basis.
Economics offers a broad range of job options in a number of industries, including the public sector, private industry, and non-profit organizations. For students who are interested in the topic, being a trained economist is a viable career option in India, where demand for the profession is growing quickly.
